In addition to a completely lovely time just sitting creek-side enjoying the fun playing - I could not help but note that my children had an absolutely marvelous time playing in nature. I absolutely love this about my children, they take their surroundings and make it fun! They walked along an old log, climbed on rocks, played in the crisp mountain water and made it ever so fun and exciting! A truly slow simple summer pleasure!
I read this post after writing this one but it really captures that feeling of kids being kids that I was pondering the day we played in the creek!
